Free Hand on iPad with "Old" Processors is extremely slow

WebViewer Version: 10.10.0

Do you have an issue with a specific file(s)?
No

Can you reproduce using one of our samples or online demos?
Yes, Viewer Demo has the same problem

Are you using the WebViewer server?
No

Does the issue only happen on certain browsers?
Maybe related to iOS. Tested Chrome and Safari on iOS. Unfortunately we have no Android-Device here to test.

Is your issue related to a front-end framework?
No

Is your issue related to annotations?
Yes

Please give a brief summary of your issue:
When using the free hand tool on an iOS Device with a pre “M-Processor” (iPad Pro 5th Gen, iPad Air 4th Gen for example), the free hand tool is sometimes really slow.

Please describe your issue and provide steps to reproduce it:

  • Use an iPad, that has a non M-Processor (for example iPad Pro 2020 with A12Z or iPad Air 4 with A14 Bionic)
  • Open the WebViewer-Demo.
  • Select the Tool “Free Hand”
  • Draw with Hand or Apple Pencil
  • Try it several times
  • About 3 out of 5 times, the lines that are drawn are rendered really slow (when i am done with drawing the line is rendered slowly along the path i have drawn)

I’m having that exact problem on my iPad Pro M4 in Chrome with freehand annotations and measurea nnotations. Tested without issue in Chrome on iPhone and Android Tablet

Hello Tobias,

This is issue with the slow freehand annotation drawing should be resolved in our latest version, 10.12. Could you test this on our viewer sample?
