When you click a link in a PDF, it normally opened in a new tab. But ever since I updated the webviewer core to 8.12.2, it has stopped opening in a new tab. Even updating to 8.12.4 doesn’t fix it.

Please provide a link to a minimal sample where the issue is reproducible:
I was using the UI version 8.1.0 and the webviewer version 8.12.2.

It seems like you’re experiencing an issue where links in your PDF documents are not opening in a new tab when clicked. This behavior might be affected by changes in how the WebViewer handles link actions in recent updates.

Some things you can try:

  • Check the WebViewer settings or configuration to ensure that links are set to open in a new tab. This might involve modifying the link handling logic to explicitly specify target="_blank".

  • Ensure that the Multi-Tab feature is enabled, as this can affect how documents and links are handled within the WebViewer.

  • Review any custom event handlers or overrides in your front-end framework that might be affecting link behavior.

  • Inspect the PDF document itself to ensure that links are correctly formatted to open in a new tab, if applicable.

Hi there,

Clicking on the link opens a security popup modal:

And then clicking on confirm opens a new tab on the latest version of WebViewer.
Could you please update your version to the latest and see if that works for you?

Best regards,
Kevin
