Overprint not rendering correctly during rasterization

Product: Apryse SDK

Product Version: 12.0.0

Please give a brief summary of your issue:
Overprint is not rendered correctly during rasterization

Please describe your issue and provide steps to reproduce it:
When rasterizing the PDF, overprint is not rendering correctly on certain parts of the output image. The problem file is attached, along with the outputted image, and a marked version of the image with the problematic areas.

problem_file_cropped.pdf (3.1 MB)

Output:

Areas where overprint isn’t rendered correctly:
The marked areas don’t have the white overprint

Adobe Acrobat is able to render the overprint correctly.

Please provide a link to a minimal sample where the issue is reproducible:

We are using PDFRasterizer but the issue is reproducible with the PDFDraw sample code that is provided by Apryse.

		void drawPage()
		{
			PDFNet::Initialize(LicenseKey);

			string inputPath = "problem_file_cropped.pdf";
			string outputPath = "problem_file_cropped.png";

			PDFDraw draw; // PDFDraw class is used to rasterize PDF pages.

			// A) Open the PDF document.
			PDFDoc doc(inputPath.c_str());

			// Initialize the security handler, in case the PDF is encrypted.
			doc.InitSecurityHandler();

			// B) The output resolution is set to 300 DPI.
			draw.SetDPI(300);

			draw.SetOverprint(PDFRasterizer::e_op_on); // set overprint on

			// C) Rasterize the first page in the document and save the result as PNG.
			draw.Export(doc.GetPageIterator().Current(), outputPath.c_str());
		}

Hi Kez,

I understand you’re seeing some unexpected behavior regarding overprint with this specific PDF. After testing with the latest Stable version of the PDFNet SDK, v12.1.0, I was able to likewise reproduce the behavior you showcased with this PDF. As such, I have submitted a report to our Engineering team detailing these results, and I will reach out to you with any updates I receive from them. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out here or via our Support Portal if you have any further questions or issues.

Thank you,
