Spreadsheet Editor shows #VALUE! for valid Excel formulas

Product:

Apryse Web SDK – Spreadsheet Editor

Product Version:

v11.11.0

Please give a brief summary of your issue (email subject):

#VALUE! error shown for valid Excel formulas in Spreadsheet Editor (v11.11.0)

Please describe your issue and provide steps to reproduce it:

We are using the Apryse Web SDK Spreadsheet Editor (v11.11.0) to display XLSX files in the browser.

When opening an Excel file that contains calculated/formula-based fields, some cells show #VALUE! in Apryse, while the same file displays correct numeric values when opened in Microsoft Excel.

For example, in our file, the “Loss / To Lease” column shows valid numbers in Excel, but displays #VALUE! in Apryse Spreadsheet Editor. This appears to be related to formula evaluation or unsupported Excel functions in Apryse.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open the provided XLSX file in Microsoft Excel – values render correctly.

  2. Open the same XLSX file in Apryse Web SDK Spreadsheet Editor (v11.11.0).

  3. Observe that some formula-based cells (e.g., Loss / To Lease column) show #VALUE! instead of numeric values.

This impacts our reporting and print workflows, as users rely on these calculated fields being displayed correctly.

It seems that you are encountering issues with the Apryse Web SDK Spreadsheet Editor displaying #VALUE! errors for some formula-based cells. This can occur if the Spreadsheet Editor does not fully support certain Excel functions or if there are discrepancies in how formulas are evaluated.

Some things you can try:

  • Check if the specific Excel functions used in your formulas are supported by the Apryse Web SDK Spreadsheet Editor. Some complex or newer functions may not yet be implemented.

  • Verify if there are any dependencies or references in the formulas that might not be correctly interpreted by the Spreadsheet Editor.

  • Consider simplifying formulas or breaking them down into smaller parts to identify which specific function or operation is causing the issue.

  • Ensure that all necessary cell data and references are correctly loaded and accessible in the Spreadsheet Editor.
